Who we are
arcpanel.org is run by the ArcPanel maintainer, an individual. Write to support@arcpanel.org about anything on this page.
What this policy covers
This website, the install script at /install.sh, the address lookup at /ip and the package repository apt.arcpanel.org. The ArcPanel software you install on your own server is described in its documentation.
What we record
- Web server logs. For every request: your IP address, the time, the address requested, your browser's identification and the page you came from. We use them to keep the site and the package repository running and secure. They are kept for up to 30 days.
- Install script downloads. For each download of
/install.sh: the time, whether a command line tool or a browser asked for it, and a pseudonymous visitor value, a keyed hash of the IP address whose key changes every day, so the same address cannot be followed from one day to the next. These records are kept for 30 days; after that only the daily totals remain. - Address lookup.
/ipanswers your IP address back to you, for ArcPanel servers that need to know their public address; nothing is stored beyond the web server log. - Visits, only if you allow it. The site asks whether you allow analytics. Only if you allow it does it load Google Analytics, which then receives the pages you visit, the page you came from, your browser and device type, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and a random identifier kept in a cookie. Google Analytics keeps this data for 14 months; Google signals are off and advertising features are denied. If you decline, nothing is loaded and nothing is sent to Google.
- E-mail. When you write to support@arcpanel.org, we keep the messages to answer you and, for paid services, as business records.
Cookies and storage
Public pages set no cookies unless you allow analytics. Then Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_<ID>, which hold a random identifier for up to 13 months. Your choice itself, and your light or dark theme, are stored in your browser's local storage and never sent to us. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page; declining after allowing deletes the analytics cookies. The administration area of the site uses session cookies for the maintainer's sign-in only.
Third parties
- The pages load jQuery from cdnjs (
cdnjs.cloudflare.com), run by Cloudflare, which receives your IP address with that request. - Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited, only if you allow analytics: the script comes from
www.googletagmanager.comand sends the data above to Google, which may process it outside your country under its own terms. - Links to GitHub, GitHub Sponsors and Open Collective take you to services with their own privacy policies.
Fonts and images are served from arcpanel.org itself.
What we do not do
No analytics without your consent, no advertising, no tracking across sites, and no sale or sharing of personal data.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it or to stop using it, by writing to support@arcpanel.org. We answer under the Law on Personal Data Protection of Vietnam (No. 91/2025/QH15), where the site is run, and, for visitors from the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation.
